Christian Wallraven received a Ph.D. degree in Physics from the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in 2007 for work on a perceptually-motivated computer vision system. He then moved to Korea University in 2010, where he is currently a Full Professor affiliated with the departments of Artificial Intelligence and Brain and Cognitive Engineering. He is PI of the Cognitive Systems Lab with research focusing on explainable and aligned AI, modeling of high-stakes decision-making, clinical applications of AI, and affective multisensory processing. In order to gather data from humans and machines, he creates fully immersive mixed reality environments interfaced with imaging and psychophysiological sensors for realistic, next-level experiments. Christian Wallraven has co-authored over 250 publications with this interdisciplinary approach integrating cognitive neuroscience, immersive mixed reality, and innovative artificial intelligence methods.
